Nikolas Royale AF is one of the two approved sons of Shagya Royal AF a.k.a. “Roy”.

Nik’s dam was the beautiful imported mare *Niobe, and Nik represents *Niobe’s “final gift” to the American Shagya breed.

*Niobe was imported from Switzerland to America in 1994 when she was in foal to the fabulous 23 year old O’Bajan I-10, and she foaled her daughter *Nicolette, dam of Nicolette’s Revelation AF while in quarantine at UC Davis. Unfortunately,

*Niobe lived in relative obscurity for a number of years and only late in life did she have the opportunity to be used in Purebred Shagya-Arabian breeding.

*Niobe’s last foal was Nikolas Royale AF. In type Nik is an ideal example of the Gazal line.

*Niobe was linebred to the “Century Stallion” Gazal VII, as both her sire Balaton and her Dam Nicola were Gazal VII offspring.

*Niobe’s full brother Nicolo received an average score of “9” at the German VZAP stallion licensing, the highest score ever given, and Nicolo became a very popular and much used stallion at Mrs. Pack’s Reichshof Stud in Germany.

Nik exemplifies the classic Babolna Gazal Shagya-Arabian type and he has the brilliant, well-balanced movement and the natural jumping ability to serve as one of the best representatives of the Shagya-Arabian breed in America.

Nik was sold shortly after his approval as a dressage prospect stallion, but unfortunately his owner gelded him, so he did not have the opportunity to contribute his genetics to the breed.

However, his paternal half-brother, Nicolette’s Revelation AF, who was also out of *Niobe’s daughter,*Nicolette, is standing at stud via frozen semen at Adele’s Shagyas.
